Scientific activity

Throughout his professional career, Dr. João Lagoas Gomes has developed several research projects in the field of rheumatic disease, muscle pathologies and pain, and is the author and co-author of several papers published in indexed journals and book chapters dedicated to Rheumatology. He was a voluntary invited assistant at NOVA Medical School during his internship, where he had the honor of supervising dozens of medical students during their rheumatology rotation at Egas Moniz Hospital in Lisbon. Currently, he is a member of Professor Fernando Pimentel Santos's research team at CEDOC - Center for Studies of Chronic Diseases. Additionally, he has participated in various clinical trials in rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, spondyloarthropathies, and lupus.
