Dr João Lagoas Gomes is a Rheumatology specialist, who dedicates his career to diagnosing and treating diseases that affect the musculoskeletal system, particularly autoimmune diseases, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and fibromyalgia.

He is the coordinator of the rheumatoid arthritis clinic and rheumatology intervention unit at the Tâmega and Sousa Hospital Centre and is responsible for the Rheumatology clinic at the Instituto de Neurociências in Porto.

In addition to his clinical work, he is involved in various medical training initiatives and scientific activities.
